What this book is: Case review with high quality images covering classic nuclear medicine and PET/CT cases with a total of 194 cases.  Each case provides a clinical history with one or more high quality images followed by a breakdown of the findings, differential diagnosis, key teaching points, and management for each case on subsequent pages.

What this book is not: This book is detailed but is not a comprehensive review of nuclear medicine nor is it a book that is as concise as possible for board preparation.  Physics of nuclear medicine and PET/CT is not covered in depth but several key concepts are covered.

Additional thoughts: This book strikes a nice balance between improving your knowledge for real-life clinical practice while also providing key learning points that trainees preparing for a board exam will benefit from.  I think this book is a good bet for both initial learners or advanced learners because it offers something for both in an easy to digest format. This book can augment your clinical nuclear medicine/radiology knowledge which is not always true for books that are more specifically targeted for the ABR core exam.

Nice balance of text and high quality images. Little physics outside of discussion of imaging artifacts. Does cover a lot of topics in general nuclear medicine and PET/CT in a case-based format. This book may be equally useful for initial learners and advanced learners.
